Privacy and cookies

BilFleks is the data controller for the personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at info@bilfleks.no, or by post: Isakveien 70, 2004 Lillestrøm.

When you send a booking request, we store the information you provide:

• Name and address
• Phone number and email address
• Requested car and rental period
• Any message you attach
• Photo of your driving licence – only if you choose to upload it yourself (this is optional; you can instead show it in person at pick-up)

We use the information solely to handle and confirm your rental request, carry out the rental itself, and contact you about your booking. The processing is based on your consent and on the need to perform the rental agreement with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and (b)).

Before we send the rental agreement, we run a credit check on the driver. We send the national identity number to Kravia, which supplies the credit information. You receive a letter showing that BilFleks has requested information about you and what it contains. We store only a summary: score, grade and the number of payment remarks. Only authorised BilFleks staff can see it.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in assessing ability to pay before we hand over a car (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

The information is stored with our data processor in the EU and is encrypted. Access is restricted to authorised personnel, and the photo of your driving licence is given extra protection – it can only be opened via a time-limited, secured link. We never sell your information, and we do not share it beyond what is necessary to carry out the rental.

We keep the information for as long as it is necessary to handle the rental and to meet statutory requirements (e.g. accounting). When it is no longer needed, it is deleted. You can request erasure at any time.

The photo of your driving licence and the result of the credit check are deleted automatically three months after the rental period ends.

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• Access – find out what information we hold about you
• Rectification – have errors in your information corrected
• Erasure – have your information deleted
• Withdraw your consent and lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet)

A cookie is a small data file stored in your browser. BilFleks uses two types:

• Necessary – required for the website to work (e.g. remembering your cookie choice). These cannot be switched off.
• Statistics – we use analytics tools (Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics 4) to understand how the website is used (anonymous, aggregated visitor statistics). These are loaded only if you consent.

We do not use cookies for advertising or for tracking you across other websites, and we never sell data. You decide whether statistics cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time below.
